Nail Show

October 3, 2012

Alright. I took a leap of faith on Sunday and went to the trade show despite my financial issue. I had a nice work day booked for Monday and knew I could make up the difference.

It was totally worth it. I got some things I needed, some things and wanted and nail polish I can justify, but really didn’t need. I have over 450 bottles, but hey, it’s a part of my job and it brings me some joy. I love painting nails and having the ability to change my color at any whim.

I got a new display for my Shellac polish, much needed implements and even some odds and ends that were such a steal of a price I couldn’t just walk away!

I don’t always have the space for retail in my office, but it’s so important to my extra income to have things for my clients, plus they value that I can offer them things that I have sitting in my office, so I picked up a few retail products and OPI polish sets. I am thinking that I might need to make and IKEA run and get a shelf to display these items on. In fact, I am going to do that.

The show seemed like it wasn’t as great as last year. I think it actuality it was better. There where more vendors then last year, and it was definitely more crowded then last years. What’s hard for me is that I don’t acrylic or traditional gels nails, so there are a lot of booths that I just walk on by. It’s nice to see that nail art is alive and well because so many booths were loaded with glitter and other do-dads.

I am already looking forward to next years. I enjoy going to the shows. There’s always something good and new to be found.
