My Favorite Face Wash

November 17, 2012

As a licensed Esthetician I have the ability to purchase high end skin care at a discount. I get to purchase things the average consumer doesn’t even know about. This is how I found my favorite new sun block. My only grief is that I have truly not found something for my oily skin that has blown me away with its oil controlling amazingness or even a product that keeps the zits and black heads away while controlling pigment issues left behind by monster hormonal zits.

I generally have great skin. Yes it’s oily, but I have never had a huge issue with acne and my tone and texture are relatively even. I have tried so many things over the years, but I always come back to my favorite regimen.

Neutrogena’s Oil Free Acne Wash. It has 2% salicylic acid added to help with blemishes and acne, and nothing works quite like it does. I have tried a lot of salicylic acid washes and this is hands down my favorite. I can even use it twice a day and it doesn’t make my skin dry. Some more expensive cleansers can really dry my skin out. I also buy their Oil Free Acne Scrub. I use it in the shower, it’s invigorating in the mornings. I am a big fan of Neutrogena make up, but the skin care products never fail me. My skin is always cleaner and better prepared to go sans make-up when I have their products in my regimen.

I know that some estheticians would think I am crazy. Yes murad makes great products, yes there are high end lines that might have better ingredients, but this is what works for me. It has for years. I don’t question it. I just do for my skin what it likes. When my skin is happy, I am happy.

I don’t believe that a person needs a $40 cleanser to get great skin and not everyone can afford $60+ for a moisturizer. At the end of the day it comes down to ingredients and whats right for you. Never feel pressured to make purchases you are uncomfortable with, there’s a lot of skin care products out there, and there is something for everyone.
