The Cards Win

December 23, 2012

In October, while having dinner with friends at this italian place we frequent, K mentioned this filthy and highly inappropriate game she had played with some friends. She said it was sold out and becoming highly popular so I knew I had to have it. I did an amazon search right there at dinner, found it, ordered it and waited for the mailman to deliver. It came within 5 days, and it was so shinny inside of the shipping box.

I was now a proud owner of Cards Against Humanity. We played it that night and the night after, and the weekends following. I discovered one night that there were expansion sets and those were promptly ordered. We played with family, with friends, we giggled and drank too much while playing.

The expansion sets went above and beyond our wildest dreams. They made us laugh harder and were more inappropriate then we could have hopped for. The small limited edition holiday pack looked innocent but was loaded with all sorts of guilty pleasures.

This game has come to define out gatherings. Occasionally it has been the sole reason for get togethers. We’ve laughed so hard we’ve cried and laughed so hard we’ve peed ourselves. It’s a glorious thing that happens when we play. We get excited to introduce people to it, we even have made up our own rules at times. It amazes me that we haven’t become bored and that the game is not repetitive. It’s the simple things that bring us joy. I know it will be making us laugh for the next 3 days of celebrations!
