New Year, New Perspective

January 8, 2013

CC texted me this morning and told me that he wasn’t well. Was thinking that he should go to the emergency room and was going to call the advice nurse at his next break between classes. After talking to him and taking a look around my kitchen and my pile of bookkeeping that needs to be done for taxes, I realized one thing, I owe it to him, my sanity and my marriage to be home more. I also owe it to my clients to have more time available to them during the week. Its really high time that I leave my other job. For the few hours a week that I do work there, its no longer with my time, energy or efforts to be there. After being away from that spa for the last two weeks, I can see that more clearly. I called into them today and told them I wouldn’t be coming in, yes, its unprofessional, but CC needs me here and so do all the things I put off because I am exhausted from doing laundry and my own clients. There are people I am going to miss, but its time. I do well enough on my own in my own work, and I believe that if I have more time to focus on my own success, I should have no problem making up the difference in the income.

CC is pretty understanding, but he stresses about money, I on the other hand always have this faith that somehow I can make work happen and get bills paid. 99% of the time, I am able to do that. I figure it’s a new year, I am damn good at what I do and I can do this. Its time to let go and let it happen. Leaving my friend’s spa that I have been at for two years (was supposed to be two months) will open up my Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to my own clients, new clients and to things that I need to accomplish in my home. It feels promising and takes a weight off my shoulders just talking about it. I shall write my 30 day notice today, which is very generous, but its professional. It’s time to go on to the next adventure and to see what awaits me.
