Matte-ness
Last night I decided to do a comparison of my matte finish top coats. Please be forgiving, I did this at 10pm. I tried the top coats on a matte finish polish first, then on a glossy polish. I used OPI’s Russian Navy Matte and Road House Blues. You will easily be able to see the difference in the matte finish top coats. I sampled Julep’s Matte Finish top Coat, Man Glaze #Matte-Astrophe, CND Super Matte and China Glaze Matte Magic.
This is Russian Navy with no top coats.
The following is a picture with the above top coats starting left to right with the pointer finger to the pinky: Julep, Man Glaze, CND, China Glaze. I left my thumb top coat free for comparison. Notice the waxiness of the CND and how streaky the Man Glaze is. Julep is okay, but China Glaze comes out on top. It does exactly what you would expect.
Now here’s a picture of Road House Blues. No top coats in all of its amazing blue glory.
And here it is with the Matte Top Coats. Same order as before, and again, China Glaze is the only one that really worked. I am disappointed in the Man Glaze and will still contact them about the streakiness. It bummed me out. The Julep isn’t bad, but I am still going to plan to pick up the OPI to see how it works. The China Glaze is a clear winner for me. I’d go hunt down a bottle if you are looking for a Matte Top Coat.
Yay! Love that you posted this and did this :)) helps me out a lot..going to get the China Glaze Matte Top Coat 🙂 thanks friend<3
