Bad Week For Nails

February 13, 2013

Its been a bad week for nails. Besides my blotched nail art the other night, I badly broke a nail on Monday. My intent was to silk wrap it, but instead I just used nail glue, painted my nails and decided that I would fix it as soon as time allowed. The following picture is of the manicure I had on for the last two days.

Blue green manicure

Today my broken nail became a huge issue. I knew I was either going to have to clip it, or just rip it off. After having lunch and a shopping excursion to Ulta with J and her daughter, I ripped that baby off and filed it as best I could. I headed back to my office to take care of two more clients, and after I finished them I set about to fix my nail. Luckily CC was at a coaches meeting and wasn’t expecting me home anytime soon. I first shaped the nail and buffed the surface slightly as shown below.

I then selected a tip that would appropriately fit the nail. I gently filed the sides and top of the tip to remove the shine, it was less blending I would have to do after getting tip glued on.

With tip

After getting the tip on, I blended it into my nail and buffed away excess glue. I was left with a perfect nail to last me though the rest of my work week that was ready to be painted. Please don’t mind my other nails in the photo, the green nail polish stained them pretty badly despite the base coat I had used.
