Test Driving e.l.f. Haul

February 15, 2013

AS promised, I have been trying products from my e.l.f. beauty haul. Lots to try and so far I am off to a very satisfied start.

Let me just state that I am in love with the e.l.f Lip Exfoliator! Not only is it convenient and mess free, it was the answer to dry winter lips! I slathered that puppy on, gently wiped it away with a damped warm washcloth, and ta-da! Soft (kissable!) lips that were ready for a decadent topping of a matte red lipstick or a simple lip gloss! Most days I am a lip balm kind of a gal, so I just slathered on Neutrogena’s Naturals Lip Balm. Its my go to balm that I keep in my makeup case. It is loaded with Vitamin E and has no weird stuff in it.

I also tried out the e.l.f. Maximum Coverage Oil Free Concealer. It was a good item to try because I woke up with a monster zit yesterday on my jaw line. I blended the concealer in with a brush, and was delighted by the coverage and the texture. Full coverage as promised, easy to blend, and the Nude shade was a perfect match to my skin tone. It performed beautifully and lasted all day.

I have used the Lengthening and Volumizing Mascara before and was always happy with its clump free formula. I tired doing one coat of it under one coat of BareMinerals Flawless Definition Mascara and I am in love with the results, I have been wearing this combo all week! Its been super fun going through everything and trying it out. In addition to the e.l.f. products, my mother-in-law gave me a Ulta brand gift set she bought during the holidays that she hasn’t used at all. It’s in the prettiest box that will make a lovely jewelry box on my dresser. I have been trying out some of the eyeshadows, but haven’t played with it too much yet.

I ended up with today off and I have been trying to motivate myself to get some work done for taxes, I instead hit my local beauty supply to quench my need to spend money. I picked up a few China Glaze bottles I didn’t have that are being discontinued and skipped the new display of OPI shades. I am so unimpressed with the new collection. Looks like a bunch of repeats and things that I can live without. I’m not a huge OPI fan to begin with, and I buy less and less of them every year. I spend more time on eBay buying discontinued shades than purchasing new ones. I did pick up two bottles of Nicole by OPI”s Modern Family while at Ulta Monday and I got my first bottle of KBShimmer’s Clown Puke that came in the mail today. I can’t wait to play with that. Looking forward to the weekend, I’ve had enough of this week.
