Hello, Its Monday Again

April 8, 2013

Life has dragged me away from posting last week. Things were so busy and this past weekend was loaded. Baseball has started and I couldn’t be happier unless the River Cats were actually winning. It is early in the season, but still, would have been nice to see a win on Friday night! Yesterday I spend the day wine tasting for a friend’s birthday and made plans for a weekend of baseball in May for CC’s birthday. River Cats on Saturday and fingers are crossed for the Giants on Sunday. Our friend’s J and N are hopefully going to be able to do the Giants game too, N and CC’s birthday’s are 2 days apart.

Work is very steady. doing a lot of massage lately and my fingers are nearly raw. I have a slower week this week, and I am hoping to get some nail art on myself and maybe even try out some new products that I have extra money for this month. I was able to order a few things from Concrete Minerals and so far I am in love. They blended flawlessly and the primer feels like silk. Today is the first “all day test run” and we’ll see how that goes. I bought 3 shades that I can wear together so I can get a good feel for them. I already want to purchase more and I am excited that I got a coupon for my next purchase. I also pre-ordered the spring collection from Cult Nails and I can’t wait. I am so hooked on their polishes.

I was going though my stash of polishes with a girl friend and a she pointed out to me that I have almost stopped buying OPI. I hadn’t noticed. I knew that I was buying fewer and fewer, but other then picking up their new Matte Top Coat, I really haven’t been buying any. I’ve been so in love with Essie and Zoya lately that I just stopped picking up the OPI’s. My work polishes are very well rounded (at work I have all OPI and that’s what I use for my clients) and the current OPI collections feel repetitive and old to me. Plus, the texture of the Liquid Sands creep me out and I can’t see investing in them. Most of my nail clients are doing Shellac as it is.

My day today will consist of a beauty supply store run, checking on a house that I am watching for client’s that are out of town, a couple waxes and a shellac service. Easy day. Just how I like my Mondays.
