Shameless Weightloss Update

August 17, 2016

As of today I am 20 pounds from reaching the first weight loss goal I have ever set for myself. I have lost 46 pounds since May of 2015. I can hardly believe it. I have walked off all that weight, toned up my muscles and changed my life. My work life is better, my married life is better, and my relationship with food is much better. I’ve learned how to cut myself off, but how not to deprive myself, I’ve learned that one margarita is good, but three is wasted calories. I was never a big soda drinker outside of mix drinks, and other than ginger beer, I don’t miss it. Water is my go to and constant companion. The more I drink, the better I feel. I’ve learned how to gage my day by my water intake and at what point I have to increase if I haven’t met or might miss my daily goal. Everything has changed, and for the better.
The hardest part lately has been buying the right sized clothes. I’ve only been buying basics because especially as of late, I’m losing weight too quickly to keep things in my closet for anything longer than a season.
Honestly though, I didn’t know I was capable of taking this control back and losing weight like this. Prior to spring last year I wasn’t ready, so I don’t have any regrets. This experience has truly changed me and my outlook on many things. I can get all sorts of shit done. It might take weeks, month or even years, but I can do it. Even with 3 months of daily work with no change, I can push though and create that change with hard work and complete dedication. (February thru May of this year was really hard!) Seeing the changes on the scales and finally really being able to see it with my eyes, makes me feel fearless again. It’s like I’m 27 again and I can take on the world. Only now I’m nearly 36 and I have so much more knowledge.
